Most of us face issues in identifying if root is अकर्मक or सकर्मक.
Following verse is quoted in a work called ūktiratnākara by Sādhusundaragaṇī, which instead of mentioning roots, mentions the meanings in which the roots are akarmaka
सत्ताशुद्धिसमृद्धवृद्धिशयनस्थानासने भासने
लज्जा जीवनरोदने च हदने नृत्ये प्रलापे क्रुधि।
सन्तुष्टौ शुचिशोकदोषमरणस्पर्धाविहारेषु च
ज्ञेयो धातुरकर्मको भयमदोन्मादप्रमादेषु च॥
This technique generally works with a few exceptions.
